The North End 88178 Men's Caprice 3-in-1 Jacket with Soft Shell Liner is a three-garment system combining a fully seam-sealed waterproof outer shell with a zip-out two-layer soft shell liner jacket. The outer shell is 4.6 oz./yd²/155 gsm 100% polyester pongee with fully seam-sealed waterproof construction and 100% taffeta shell lining with embossed print. A storm flap with metal snap closure, brushed tricot chin guard and pockets, and thermal brushed tricot-lined collar add weather protection at the collar and front opening.

The liner jacket is a standalone performance soft shell — 7.5 oz./yd²/255 gsm 96/4 polyester/spandex bonded with 100% polyester fleece, with water repellent finish and 100% polyester tricot lining in the sleeves. It can be worn independently as a mid-layer. A zip-off hood with back adjustable tab provides head coverage. Thermal retention shock cord at hood and hem is included.

The UTK 2 temperature range (34°F to -3°F / 1°C to -19°C) is the manufacturer's stated comfort rating for the combined system — appropriate for cold to very cold winter conditions. Available S–5XL. Men's counterpart to the 78178. FLA certified supplier noted by alphabroder.
