The North End 88159 Men's Glacier Insulated Three-Layer Fleece Soft Shell Hood Jacket is the most cold-rated jacket in the North End soft shell collection — a 9 oz./yd² three-layer 96/4 polyester/spandex construction bonded to 100% polyester fleece with an inner waterproof membrane, plus polyester fill insulation. The insulation is layered in the body (2.9 oz./yd² poly fill with polyester taffeta lining) and the hood and sleeves (4 oz./yd² poly fill with polyester taffeta lining), adding thermal retention beyond what the fleece bonding layer alone delivers.

The 8,000 mm waterproof rating and 800 g breathability rating are manufacturer-stated performance specifications. The UTK 3 temperature range (30°F to -9°F / -1°C to -23°C) is the manufacturer's stated comfort rating — the coldest UTK rating available in the North End soft shell lineup, positioning the Glacier for full winter cold-weather applications.

The EZAWAY SYSTEM™ features a zip-off thermal hood with rigid peak that can be detached. Inside storm placket with fleece chin guard, adjustable fleece-lined cuffs, shock cord at hood and drop back hem, a right-chest zippered pocket, and the EZEM SYSTEM™ embroidery access feature complete the construction.
