The North End 78178 Women's Caprice 3-in-1 Jacket with Soft Shell Liner is a three-garment system in one — an outer waterproof shell, a zip-out soft shell liner, and the combination of both worn together. The outer shell is 4.6 oz./yd²/155 gsm 100% polyester pongee with a fully seam-sealed waterproof construction and 100% taffeta shell lining with embossed print. A storm flap with metal snap closure, brushed tricot chin guard and pockets, and a thermal brushed tricot-lined collar add weather protection details.
The zip-out liner is a separate two-layer soft shell jacket — 7.5 oz./yd²/255 gsm 96/4 polyester/spandex bonded with 100% polyester fleece, with a water repellent finish and 100% polyester tricot lining in the sleeves. As a standalone piece, the liner functions as a performance soft shell. A zip-off hood with back adjustable tab provides head coverage.
The UTK 2 temperature range (34°F to -3°F / 1°C to -19°C) is the manufacturer's stated comfort range for the combined system. Thermal retention shock cord at hood and hem is included. Available XS–3XL. Women's counterpart to the 88178 men's Caprice.
The three-system format makes the 78178 ideal for corporate programs in variable weather climates, outdoor workforce programs, and any use case where one jacket needs to cover three-season use. Embroidery is the standard decoration method.
