The Gildan 64PLSMA Unisex Softstyle® Plasma Print T-Shirt applies a factory plasma surface treatment to the standard 64000 Softstyle® construction, creating an enhanced printability surface that further improves ink adhesion, color vibrancy, and wash fastness for DTG (direct-to-garment) and screen printing over what the standard high-stitch-density Softstyle® surface already provides.
Plasma treatment uses an ionized gas process that modifies the surface energy of the cotton fibers at the molecular level without adding chemical coatings, opening the fiber surface to allow ink to penetrate and bond more effectively. On the already-smooth 30 singles ring-spun Softstyle® fabric, the plasma treatment creates an optimal DTG printing substrate that can rival pre-treated garment performance in some applications.
