The Gildan 50PLSMA Unisex Heavy Cotton® Plasma Print T-Shirt applies a factory plasma surface treatment to the standard 5000 Heavy Cotton® fabric, creating an enhanced printability surface that improves ink adhesion and color vibrancy for DTG (direct-to-garment) printing, screen printing, and sublimation decoration.
Plasma treatment uses an ionized gas process to modify the surface energy of the cotton fibers at the molecular level without adding chemical coatings, opening up the fiber surface to allow ink to penetrate and bond more effectively. This can improve DTG print wash fastness and color saturation compared to standard untreated cotton.
