The Comfort Colors 1466 Unisex Garment-Dyed Lightweight Fleece Crewneck Sweatshirt is a 6.4 oz. 100% ring-spun US cotton crewneck sweatshirt garment-dyed after construction to produce the authentic, worn-in feel and slightly vintage character for which Comfort Colors is known. Unlike standard fabric-dyed sweatshirts where the fabric is dyed before construction, garment dyeing applies color to the fully assembled garment, causing the yarn and seam areas to absorb dye slightly differently and creating natural color variation that is the defining aesthetic of the Comfort Colors brand.
The 100% ring-spun US cotton fiber is sourced exclusively from cotton grown and processed in the United States under the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol, providing supply chain transparency and responsibility certification. Ring-spun cotton is twisted and thinned to create a stronger, softer yarn than standard open-end spun cotton, resulting in a notably soft hand feel that improves with repeated washing. All threads are 100% cotton, including the sewing threads, maintaining the consistent all-cotton character through every element of the garment.
The garment-dye and wash pre-shrinking process pre-shrinks the sweatshirt during production for almost no additional shrinkage at home — one of the most common performance advantages Comfort Colors garments offer over standard cotton sweatshirts. A 1x1 rib knit collar, cuffs, and waistband provide the structure and recovery expected of a classic crewneck sweatshirt. A rolled forward shoulder seam shifts the traditional shoulder seam forward, reducing the seam-on-shoulder pressure point during wearing. A seamless body eliminates side seams on the front panel for a smoother interior surface. A signature Comfort Colors twill label and back neck tape provide garment information in the brand's characteristic woven label format.
