The Bulwark SWW2 Men’s FR Welding Work Shirt is purpose-engineered for welding environments where spatter, sparks, and concentrated radiant heat require enhanced protection at the sleeve zones. The shell is EXCEL FR® 7 oz./yd² (235 g/m²) 100% cotton for the body. The sleeves are lined with TUFFWELD® — 8.5 oz./yd² (288 g/m²) 60% FR rayon/40% aramid — a dense, tightly-woven inherently FR lining material specifically engineered to resist molten metal spatter and spark penetration at the sleeve interior. This is a special application garment.
Snap closures at the front placket, collar, and cuffs facilitate rapid donning and doffing while keeping hardware flat against the body to reduce spatter entrapment. Two chest pockets with snap flap closures and sewn-in soapstone stall (not pencil stall) accommodate the marking tools used in welding. A special gored sleeve opening provides additional width at the cuff to facilitate ventilation and boot clearance in welding positions. A sleeve soapstone holder provides dedicated storage for welding soapstone. A square hemmed front with snap closure replaces the standard rounded shirttail.
NFPA® 2112 compliant with arc rating ATPV 7.7 cal/cm² (Category 1). ASTM F2733 compliant (molten metal protection).
