The American Apparel 1301GD takes the proven 1301 heavyweight cotton construction and applies a garment-dyeing process that produces a vintage, faded aesthetic with minimal residual shrinkage at home. Built from 6 oz./yd2 100% cotton, 18 singles, the base fabric is identical to the classic 1301 — wide rib collar, taped neck and shoulders, relaxed fit. Each garment is dyed after assembly, resulting in lived-in color variation and a soft, broken-in feel that has made garment-dyed blanks consistent sellers in streetwear and merch markets.

Works particularly well with discharge printing and water-based inks for a soft-hand finish. Recycled tear-away label. OEKO-TEX certified, US Cotton Trust Protocol.
